Corona, CA – Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (R-Corona) announced his intention to seek election to the 42nd Congressional District.
“Now that the California Citizens Redistricting Commission has finalized the new congressional district maps I am pleased to announce my candidacy for the 42nd Congressional District in 2012,” said Rep. Calvert. “The largest city in the 42nd District is my hometown of Corona and I have had the pleasure of representing all of the communities in the district at one time or another during my time in public service. I am honored to represent my constituents in the House of Representatives and I look forward to asking for their vote once again next year.”
The 42nd Congressional District includes the cities of Eastvale, Norco, Corona, Lake Elsinore, Wildomar, Canyon Lake, Menifee, Murrieta and a portion of Temecula. The district also includes the unincorporated ares of El Sobrante, Woodcrest, Temescal Valley, Lakeview, Nuevo, Homeland, Winchester, and Aguanga.
