I voted against ObamaCare and believe it should be repealed. The process Washington Democrats used to produce the health care law was fraught with sweetheart deals, special interest carve outs, and forced on America under undemocratic rules. I believe Congress should repeal and replace the health care law with a renewed focus on the health care reform elements most Americans agree on.
Here are just some of the elements Congress could change without needing to spend trillions of dollars on a government takeover of our health care system:
- Ensure patients with pre-existing health conditions are not denied coverage by insurance companies;
- Increase competition by removing the restrictions that prevent insurance plans from being sold across state lines;and
- Enact meaningful tort reforms that prevent windfall judgments for trial lawyers and artificially inflate health insurance rates.
